South San Francisco, CA - November 2, 2026

Mirvie, a pregnancy health company whose proprietary Mirvie RNA PlatformTM enables early risk detection of pregnancy complications, today announced the appointment of women’s health industry veteran David Stern as Chief Executive Officer, and the transition of co-founder Maneesh Jain, PhD, to Executive Vice Chair of the Board.

Under Jain’s leadership, Mirvie established the critical scientific, clinical, and commercial foundation needed to transform how pregnancy complications are predicted and managed and launched Encompass™, the company’s solution to preeclampsia risk prediction for preventive action. Stern was recruited to lead Mirvie’s next phase of commercial growth. The appointment follows a period of foundational milestones including publication of clinical validation and cost savings data, insurance coverage from several large health plans enabling reimbursement for 1 in 7 commercially insured pregnancies in the U.S., and adoption and evidence of real-world utility across physician and patient care decisions.

“Founding and leading Mirvie has been the work of a lifetime, and I could not be prouder of our indomitable team,” said Jain. “In a short period, we created a unique data set of 300M+ pregnancy transcripts that has revealed the biology of pregnancy complications like preeclampsia risk, that had gone unseen for decades.  Today, we are on market with a validated test that clinicians and patients can trust, along with the payer coverage and evidence of utility to bring it into everyday care. The era of personalized biomarker-guided pregnancy care for healthier moms and babies is here. I am delighted to pass the torch to David to accelerate and scale our commercial growth. The Board and I are excited to partner with David as we work to change the trajectory of preterm birth and maternal health outcomes, which remain unacceptably poor for too many expectant mothers in America."

Stern brings more than 30 years of women’s health leadership to Mirvie. Most recently, he was CEO of Kindbody, a national fertility clinic network and family-building benefits provider.  Prior to this, he served as CEO of Boston IVF, one of the largest fertility center providers in the U.S. As CEO of Symbiomix Therapeutics, he took the company from development through the commercial launch of Solosec, a breakthrough treatment for bacterial vaginosis, and successfully led its 2017 acquisition by Lupin Pharmaceuticals. Early in his career, he expanded and led the global fertility franchise at Merck Serono.

“Pregnancy is one of the last outdated frontiers of medicine that is still managed largely by one-size-fits-all guidelines,” said Stern. “What Maneesh and the team have built is rare: molecular insight into the biology of each pregnancy, a clinically validated test, established payer coverage, and growing demand from clinicians and patients. I’ve watched precision tools transform outcomes and the patient experience in fertility care, and I believe Encompass can do the same for pregnancy. It’s an honor to lead Mirvie into this next phase.”
